Community Guidelines

Last updated: May 19, 2026

PinScene is a real-time local map for events, alerts, and happenings near you. To keep the platform safe and useful, all users must follow these guidelines. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

What's not allowed

  • Hate speech, harassment, threats, or content targeting people based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected category.
  • Pornography, sexual content, or content depicting nudity.
  • Violence, gore, or content that glorifies harm to people or animals.
  • Content that depicts or promotes illegal activity, including illegal drugs, weapons, or fraud.
  • Spam, scams, repeated promotional content, or off-topic pins.
  • Personal information about others (doxxing) — including home addresses, phone numbers, or workplace information.
  • Impersonation of other people, businesses, or government entities.
  • Misinformation about emergencies, public safety, or health.
  • Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.

Tools you can use

  • Report a pin — Tap the menu on any pin to flag it as objectionable. Reported content is hidden from your feed immediately while our team reviews.
  • Block a user — Tap a user's name to block them. You won't see their pins, and they can't see yours.
  • Mute words — In Profile settings, add words or phrases you don't want to see. Pins containing them get hidden from your feed automatically.

How we moderate

When you report content, our team reviews and acts within 24 hours. We may:

  • Remove the content from the platform.
  • Warn or suspend the user who posted it.
  • Permanently ban users for serious or repeated violations.

Decisions are final but users may appeal by emailing [email protected] with their case.

Reporting urgent safety issues

If you encounter a pin that depicts an immediate threat to a person's life, contact your local emergency services first (911 in the US), then report the pin in-app.

For non-emergency safety concerns or to report a user for serious violations (CSAM, terrorism, etc.), email [email protected] with as much detail as possible. We respond to safety reports within 24 hours.

Account responsibility

You're responsible for everything posted from your account. Sharing your account, automating posts without permission, or using PinScene to broadcast on behalf of organizations you don't represent may result in account termination.
