PinScene (pinscene.com) is a community-driven, real-time map where users post short-lived "pins" describing local events, incidents, and happenings. This page explains the nature of that content and the limits of what it represents.
Pins on PinScene are posted by registered users and reflect what those users say they have observed, heard about, or are advertising at a given point in time. They are community reports and submissions. They are not the result of professional journalism, official government alerts, or any independent verification process, except where explicitly labeled as coming from an official feed (such as National Weather Service alerts or public transit agencies). Even those feeds can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong.
PinScene makes no claim that any pin is accurate, current, or safe to act on. Those judgments are yours to make.
PinScene is not an emergency, public safety, or official notification service. Do not rely on PinScene during a medical emergency, natural disaster, crime in progress, or any other situation where timely and verified information is critical. In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) and follow guidance from official authorities.
PinScene does not endorse any political party, ideology, candidate, business, event organizer, or public figure whose name or activity may appear in user-posted pins. Sponsored Pins are clearly labeled and represent paid advertising from their respective advertisers, not a recommendation by PinScene.
PinScene is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any news organization, venue, event promoter, transit agency, weather service, or government body whose content or data may be referenced on the platform. Names, logos, and content belong to their respective owners. Where we link to third-party websites, we do not host, reproduce, or claim ownership of that content.
Every pin has a lifetime chosen by the poster, ranging from two hours to three days. Reaction counts, locations, and content may be edited by the poster or moderators. Historical pin data is not guaranteed to be preserved or displayed. Do not rely on PinScene as a permanent record of any event.
PinScene content is not intended to be used as the sole basis for any legal, financial, business, travel, or safety decision. If you are making a decision that depends on the accuracy of a report, consult multiple sources and verify the information through official channels.
Pins, photos, and links on PinScene may reference articles, products, venues, or services hosted on third-party websites. We do not control the content, accuracy, or availability of those resources.
